Nice looking set of wheels.
Thank you, a friend is looking for some cool cars, saw this one yesterday in the failing light, did the best I could. The owner and his wife were very kind and waited for me to get some pictures, really nice folks.

Wow! That is an impressive car. Not so keen on the colour though - too much like postwar/prewar grey!

I think its a work in progress...:-)
Oh! Well that goes to show how much I (don't) know about restoration! :-)
Well, I'm no expert, but I talked with the people and I got the impression that it represented a major investment.

Awesome Car!

well done - I like this one as well - was going to say I quite like the matte black.

Thanks Lavender! The owners seem to be building this as an investment. Little by little he's working on this car and I think one day he'll be able to sell it and probably get enough for it to put their little girl through college, or something. Its an interesting perspective.

I agree. And I think the way he uses the 'Low Rider' theme works well with this car. Still, I am lloking for more cars, perhaps different themes, so don't think I've given up. Post 'em when I can find 'em. :-)

amazing car. yes they are expensive, but really cool. thanks

cool car! I have always ben a suker for these old cars. this one looks to be on its way to a full restoration.

Yep! And they are so expensive...
Yeah, me too. It was parked up in front of the KFC, hard to find an angle that didn't show some store front or distracting backdrop. Somehow the big green dollar store sign in the background didn't seem to work with a 1929 Ford, you know? Haha! Hope your job search is going well. Best I've found so far is 15 or 20 hour job at Dominoes, the one up the street by Commanche...gonna have to make a choice tho'...school almost out and you know the kids are going to be locking down those jobs! Tell neat Nat hi!

Agreed, the KFC would not be an ideal backdrop either. Although it does present an interesting contrast between the 20's - 30's "work for what you get lifestyle" and the desposible, "easy come easy go" life of today.

The job hunt is ok...I may be fighting you for the Dominos job soon if I don't find something.

Hopefully we can secrue something before the drones of teenagers gobble up all the easy to find jobs!! Best of luck to you.

I would like to have a restored 57 chevy. red and white. lol
Had one back in 69 before I joined the Marines. Paid $150 for it, two door and very stock. Took the engine out of it, 6 cly, put in a 283 bored out to 327 cu in disp, 30-30 cam, solid lifters four barrel dual line Holley, headers that belched fire, took out the automatic trans, put in a clutch with 4speed with Hurst shifter, 4/11 positrack rear end and big fat goodyear tiger paws. Even had a 4 track tape player...had plans. But I guess life teaches you to put away childish toys. But I'm glad I still have the memories...
The contrast of lifestyles always makes for a compelling photograph. But that job at Dominoes, not sure about...there's somethnig about making (maybe) 400 dollars a month that somehow fails to impress me. So I wind up looking for something better while the rednecks tell me 'at least its a job!'. As if to say that's all that's important. So, anyway, not sure about that one. But you're right, motivation might come in the form of hordes of teenagers....we'll see.
Damn now that was sweet. But what color was it. ha ha
Green and white. I know, but it worked. Was planning on painting it candy apple red and working the interior to match, you remember the rolled an pleated way they used to do? Anyway, used the money to start college. Then when I realized I couldn't afford to go, joined the Corps with the intention of doing the college thingy afterwards. 1969, hell of a year...
yah tucked and rolled. awesome. candy apple red to die for. lol There was a blue flacked i like also. cool memories. hey i am thrilled to have my Buick and it runs. this area is not good for bikes. no edge or sidewalks, bike paths. lot of hills and twist and turns. walking is a workout. the acre I live on is flat so Annie and I can stroll pretty far.
Yeah, tucked and rolled not rolled and pleated, what was I thinking? I'm glad you got your Buick and that it runs, I imagine it would be a nightmare if you didn't have transportation. Take care! Peace and Love Sister!
Oh yes here you need a car.
